Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Emergency Room Nurse PRN to deliver patient‑centered care in a fast-paced ED. The RN will collaborate with physicians and the care team, assess pain, perform procedures, document care, and educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow‑up steps.

Required 1+ year ER experience and active RN license; certifications such as ACLS, BCLS, and PALS are expected within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• The RN coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers.
• Strong knowledge of pain management, documentation, and patient education.
• Ability to teach patients and families about conditions, treatment plans and follow-up steps.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with timely reassessments.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and care as ordered; document care in medical records.
• Respond promptly to patient needs; anticipate and resolve issues proactively.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications and possible side effects.
• Educate on non-medical follow-ups such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and self-management.

Education
