Job summary

Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Emergency Department in Salem, OR. The role involves triage, rapid assessment, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in a Level II Trauma Center serving over 115,000 patients annually.

Position is full time, non-exempt, with a night shift consisting of three 12-hour shifts. Requires BSN/ADN or diploma RN with five years acute care; BLS and Oregon RN licensure are mandatory.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN or diploma RN with 5 years acute care experience; ADN with <5 years must sign to complete BSN/MSN within 3 years of hire.
• BLS certification.
• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate, ongoing, age-appropriate assessments for each patient.
• Reports and consults pertinent data with the healthcare team and takes appropriate action.
• Delivers care based on the individualized patient care plan.
• Follows Salem Health policies and procedures for nursing skills.
• Initiates and reviews care plans with patients and families to address holistic needs.
• Adjusts care plans as patient conditions change.
• Documents assessments, plans, interventions, and patient responses.
• Anticipates patient and team needs, sharing information proactively.
• Maintains a safe unit environment by following infection control policies and proper handling of sharps and equipment.
