Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN night shifts in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and collaborate closely with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Required RN licensure in Kansas, Associate’s degree (BSN preferred), and BLS certification. Strong English communication, teamwork, and hospital experience in acute care are highly valued.

Qualifications

• RN is required and must be licensed to practice in Kansas.
• Associate's degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments across multiple domains.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reassess regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care and ensure teamwork.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record.
• Monitor outcomes and adjust plans to improve patient health.
• Ensure infection control, safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to healthcare team as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and performance improvement.
• Respond to code situations promptly and effectively.
