Job summary

Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician for ER/ICU to join our Emergency team. This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay, shift differentials, and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for qualified candidates.

You will perform triage, anesthesia monitoring, IV access, in-house lab work, and assist with imaging and advanced procedures while collaborating closely with veterinarians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• 1 year ER/ICU experience
• Current WA state veterinary technician license
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with strong record-keeping

Responsibilities

• Provide proper handling and restraint of medically compromised patients
• Perform triage, intake assessments, and monitor vital signs
• Assist with IV catheter placement, blood collection, and surgeries
• Monitor anesthesia and recovery of patients
• Conduct in-house labs and assist with imaging
