Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Northeast Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. This overnight shift requires Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and alternating Saturdays from 9:30pm–7:30am.

You will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, place IV catheters and feeding tubes, and mentor teammates while delivering compassionate care to critically ill pets.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).
• Experience in emergency/ICU settings preferred.
• Oregon veterinary credentialing requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian.
• Manage blood pressure and critical vitals.
• Identify arrest risk and initiate CPR.
• Administer medications and calculate doses.
• Place IV catheters and maintain lines.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with empathy.
