Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, with one year of related experience and training.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.
• Multi-modality Technologists must have certifications in two or more modalities (radiology, CT, US, MRI) or cross-training.
• Must be aware of exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.

Responsabilités

• Utilize computerized tomography equipment to obtain detailed images of internal organs and tissues.
• Position patients accurately for scans to target specific body areas.
• Regular warm-up procedures on the CT scanner to extend X-ray tube life.
• Sterilize and maintain radiologic equipment to uphold safety standards.
• Interpret and follow the physician’s scanning instructions accurately.
• Administer radiocontrast agents as needed to improve imaging quality.
• Assess CT scans for technical quality and report inconsistencies or deficiencies.
• Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide reassurance.
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions or complications and respond appropriately.
• Maintain inventory of radiologic supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
