Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking a PRN Research Coordinator I for the Emergency Medicine department in Kansas City, MO. This part-time position supports clinical trials from initiation to completion, coordinating participant screening, visits, and regulatory compliance.

You’ll work with investigators and IRBs to ensure safe, ethical, and well-documented research, helping advance patient care while maintaining HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in allied health, medical, or related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while following research protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills to manage research activities and documentation.
  • One year of clinical research experience (preferred).
  • Clinical Research Coordinator certification through ACRP or SOCRA (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage clinical research studies from initiation through completion, including participant screening, recruitment, scheduling, and study visits.
  • Conduct research activities in accordance with study protocols, GCP, regulations, and policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: regulatory files, informed consent forms, IRB approvals, source docs, CRFs, communications, and accountability records.
  • Work with investigators to prepare protocols and materials for IRB submission and approval.
  • Coordinate ongoing IRB communications regarding amendments, consent, safety, adverse events, deviations, and continuing reviews.
  • Collaborate on financial and administrative aspects of trials with investigators and leaders.
  • Assist with study contracts, confidentiality agreements, and trial agreements.
  • Collaborate with departments to prepare for and implement new research protocols.
  • Support efforts to identify, market, and recruit new clinical trials.
  • Promote participant safety through proper laboratory testing and protocol adherence.
  • Protect privacy of participants per HIPAA and regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical research regulations and requirements.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety, and inclusive culture.
