Job summary

Stifel is seeking a Research Associate I to support senior analysts with information gathering, analysis, and modeling. You’ll build Excel-based financial models and help prepare cash flow analyses, income statements, and balance sheets, while learning valuation techniques and financial research fundamentals.

Under supervision, you’ll develop industry knowledge, manage databases (Bloomberg, FactSet) and assist with special projects, presenting findings clearly to the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting or related field.
• 0 to 2 years of Financial Services or relevant industry experience.
• Experience with financial modeling and valuation concepts.
• Strong Excel modeling skills and data management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to learn quickly and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and data gathering, analysis, modeling, and support to senior level Research Analysts.
• Learn and apply core research skills including accounting, finance, valuation, and modeling.
• Build and maintain Excel-based financial models (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, DCF).
• Formulate mathematical or simulation models with parameters and constraints.
• Analyze information from management to define operational problems.
• Validate and test models; adjust as needed.
• Build and update comp sheets.
• Manage databases and data services (Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.).
• Support special projects and locate relevant data.
