Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Equity Research AVP in Aerospace & Defense/Defense Tech in New York. You will collaborate with senior analysts to produce research reports and presentations, monitor market trends, and update investment solutions.

You will engage institutional clients to communicate research findings and provide strategic recommendations. Minimum qualifications include detailed analysis, financial modelling, and sector experience; FINRA SIE/S63/S86/S87 and CFA (or in progress) are valued.

Qualifications

• Detailed analysis and valuation of companies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The ability to effectively convey research investment recommendations to clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market, sector, corporate and economic data to develop investment theses for your coverage universe.
• Produce and deliver research notes and presentations for Barclays Clients.
• Present Research views to Clients; engage via direct, face-to-face or virtual interactions.
• Collaborate with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders to raise awareness of Research.
• Provide insights to internal clients to navigate financial markets and risk.
• Work with Supervisory Analyst, Compliance to ensure compliant delivery of Research.

Join Barclays as an Equity Research Aerospace & Defense/Defense Tech, AVP, where you’ll have the chance to collaborate with senior analysts to produce comprehensive research reports and presentations while monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and company news to update and refine investment solutions. You will also engage with institutional clients to communicate the research findings and provide strategic recommendations.

To be successful as an Equity Research Aerospace & Defense/Defense Tech, AVP, you should have:

• Ability to conduct detailed analysis and valuation of companies
• Proficiency in financial modelling and interpreting highly detailed financial statements
• Aerospace & Defense, Technology, Industrials, or related sector experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• The ability to effectively convey research investment recommendations to clients

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Familiarity with financial software and databases such as Bloomberg, and advanced Excel
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with institutional clients
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior analysts

This role is regulated by FINRA.

Minimum Salary: $125,000

Maximum Salary: $175,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.

Accountabilities

• Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
• Research may range from individual company or sector notes, through to long dated thematic reports.
• Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face to face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
• Engagement with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders, to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally. Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable Clients for your Research.
• Provision of insights and Research views to internal Clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
• Collaboration with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
