Job summary

Wellington Management is seeking an Investment Director (Product Specialist/Client Portfolio Manager) to lead equity product strategy and client engagement in the US and beyond. You will partner with Portfolio Management, BD, and Risk teams to shape investment processes, markets education, and client communications.

The role emphasizes strategic marketing, portfolio analysis, and a solid investments foundation. A long-term, collaborative mindset and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate has a strong academic background, ideally including a post-graduate qualification (e.g. MBA or CFA).
• 12+ years of related professional experience in Asset Management or institutional investment consulting.
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• A strong equity background.
• Strong business judgment.
• Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize risk and perform attribution analysis.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and manage multiple priorities.
• Creativity, commerciality and leadership skills.
• Attention to detail with a solutions-oriented, strategic mindset.
• Positive, collegial attitude and high professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Development & Marketing: Engage with clients, prospects and consultants; assess opportunities; develop products and solutions; create and implement marketing strategy and materials; present investment processes to varied audiences; educate internal and external stakeholders; differentiate strategies vs competitors; collaborate with Business Development teams.
• Investment Integrity and Risk Management: Oversee portfolio investment and risk integrity; set client performance expectations; identify risk issues and recommend process improvements; manage firm risks in client negotiations.
• Business Partner to Investment Teams: Contribute to product development; vet opportunities; work with Equity Business Development group; drive resolution of internal issues related to portfolios and solutions.
