Job summary

The Equity Project (TEP) Charter School in New York City is hiring Early Childhood and Elementary School teachers (Kindergarten to 4th grade). Teachers lead classrooms, teach across subjects, and emphasize literacy development within a mission-driven, equity-focused program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of lead teaching experience in K-4 in a public charter school, traditional public school, or private school setting.
  • Ability to develop and implement a dynamic and engaging math curriculum.
  • Outstanding verbal ability and strong communication skills.
  • Certification requirements: Teachers do not need NYS teaching certification to be hired; identify a pathway to certification.
  • Education requirements: TE P adheres to NYS pathways and does not require additional degree programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a class of students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade across subjects to support progress.
  • Build deep relationships with students to foster progress and development, with emphasis on literacy instruction.
  • Contribute to a classroom culture that reflects the program's Academics, Arts, and Athletics pillars.
