Oak Park Elementary District 97 is seeking a Permanent Substitute Teacher to cover classrooms at William Beye Elementary School for K-5 students. This temporary role supports regular teachers and emphasizes creating an inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Professional Educator License or Substitute License, a bachelor's degree or higher, and can collaborate with staff, communicate with parents, and adapt to short-notice changes.

Qualifications

• Professional Educator License or Substitute License.
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher required.
• Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate regularly with other teachers regarding planning, assessment, parent and community contact, and grade level meetings.
• Instruct students in assigned classroom using provided lesson plans or creating new ones.
• Prepare students for tests and ensure continuous instruction during teacher absence.
• Develop lesson plans as needed and gain familiarity with district curriculum and resources.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities.
• Assist in development of curricular materials and perform other duties as assigned.
