Commerce Trust is a division of Commerce Bank.**About This Job**The main purpose of this role is to conduct in-depth fundamental equity research on industries, companies and individual equities to make buy/sell recommendations; then clearly communicate research to investment team.**Essential Functions*** Provide fundamental research on industries, companies, and their publicly traded securities* Provide valuation analysis leading to recommendation of investment actions* Present investment recommendations and associated research to the investment team in a clear concise manner* Monitor market, economic, policy, and company-specific developments and assess their impact on portfolio positioning and risk* Analyze portfolio holdings, attribution, and relative performance to identify trade opportunities, risks, and associated actions* Maintain relationships with sell-side analysts and industry contacts to strengthen research insight and idea generation* Prepare clear written communication and present complex investment theses to a wide variety of audiences* Perform other duties as assigned**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required*** Deep knowledge of equity markets, portfolio construction, valuation methods, and fundamental equity research* Ability to explain complex investment ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences* Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across investment teams* Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities* Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills* Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values* Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook**Education & Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field required; MBA or other advanced study preferred* 5+ years of experience in equity research, portfolio management, or investment analysis required* Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred\*\*Level of role is determined by knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.\*\*\*For individuals applying, assigned and/or hired to work in areas with pay transparency requirements, Commerce is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for some roles.
