FSJ Partners in the New York City metropolitan area seeks an Equity Research Associate – Semiconductors for a full-time, on-site role. You will conduct fundamental and industry research, build and maintain detailed financial models, and prepare research reports with actionable investment recommendations.

You will share insights with internal stakeholders and clients, track earnings and industry trends, and collaborate with sales, trading and investment teams to support informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills including financial statement analysis, valuation techniques (DCF, comps)
  • Knowledge of semiconductor industry drivers, tech trends and supply chains
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present complex ideas clearly
  • Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with data and research tools (Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ) and large data sets

Job description

Our client seeks an Equity Research Associate – Semiconductors. It's a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area.

  • Conduct fundamental and industry-specific research on semiconductor companies.
  • Financial statement analysis, valuation modeling, and monitoring key sector trends.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining detailed financial models,

preparing research reports and investment recommendations, and supporting senior

team members with company and industry analyses.

  • The role also involves attending company meetings and industry conferences, tracking earnings results and news flow, and communicating insights to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Collaboration with sales, trading, and investment teams is expected to help inform investment decisions and maintain high-quality, timely research coverage.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial statement analysis, valuation techniques (DCF, comparable companies), and proficiency in Excel or similar modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry, including key business drivers, technology trends, supply chain dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise research reports and present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data and research tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, or similar platforms) and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree, CFA, or progress toward certification is a plus.
