Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Yard Technician in Lakeland, FL. You will load/unload equipment, verify tickets, and keep yards clean and organized while learning the equipment rental business. This role offers growth into driver, mechanic, and sales-related positions with a strong safety focus.

The position requires reliability, customer communication, and the ability to operate multiple vehicle types and equipment safely in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers.
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment and machinery.
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order.
• Maintain clean and organized yard and work area.
• Answer and resolve customer questions.
• Provide customers with expert advice on the selection, operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Support all team members.
