Job summary

Seneca Golf Course, part of the Cleveland Metroparks system, is seeking an Equipment Technician to maintain and repair golf course equipment at Seneca Golf Course. The role also supports course grounds maintenance as needed.

Essential duties include operating and maintaining turf equipment, managing the golf cart fleet, and performing skilled tasks in irrigation, drainage, and turf practices with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and at least two years’ experience maintaining and repairing golf course equipment.
• Familiarity with small engine repair, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines.
• Valid driver’s license is required; reel mower operation experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork; strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and repairs equipment such as greens/tees/fairway mowers, tank sprayers, greens roller, tractors, utility vehicles, spreaders, and related turf equipment.
• Maintains and upkeeps golf cart fleet.
• Performs semi-skilled to skilled work in golf grounds maintenance, including cup cutting, bunker raking, and mowing greens, tees, and fairways with independent judgment.
• Performs work in irrigation, drainage, and turf maintenance practices.
• Applies preventative maintenance knowledge to equipment and maintains a safe work environment; reports hazards promptly.
• Provides direction and fixes work assignments for other employees as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experiences maintaining and repairing golf course equipment and/or similar type equipment/vehicles.
• Must be familiar with small engine repair, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Preferred experience with the operation and maintenance of reel mowers.
• Preferred experience in welding and fabrication.
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit leadership consistent with teamwork approach that recognizes the contribution of all employees.
• Keeps current with new production methods, techniques, and materials by work assignment locations.
• Written and oral communication skills to communicate professionally and effectively.

Compensation:

Starts at $30.11/hour with a $0.50 increase every six (6) months until reaching the base rate of $31.61
