Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Transportation in Mitchell is hiring a full-time Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and automotive systems on DOT vehicles and equipment. Qualifications

• An associate's degree in automotive technology or completion of a formal post-secondary program in auto/heavy equipment repair.
• One year of automotive or heavy equipment repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and repair diesel and automotive systems on DOT vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and major/minor repairs.
• Fabricate or modify equipment components and weld as needed.
• Operate diagnostic tools and onboard computer systems.
