Job summary

TSMC Arizona in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Equipment Technician for our 5-nanometer fab. You will perform preventive maintenance on state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom and respond to system errors while ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role includes reviewing SPC charts, managing spare parts lifecycle, and contributing to continuous improvement. Shifts are 12 hours, 3-4 days per week, with potential night shifts based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent technical training in military service, with sufficient machine maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment, gowning up in coveralls, hoods, boots, safety glasses and gloves. Spend the majority of time (>90%, minus break time) on the factory floor working on the tools.
  • Able to lift weight consistent with applicable regulations and/or safety guidelines, including NIOSH Lifting Recommendations.
  • This position is required to work on a compressed work week schedule and rotating shifts as requested, which generally last 3-6 months, or may be assigned to a permanent nightshift position depending on business needs.
  • Typical shift is 12 hours long, alternating between three and four days every other week including breaks.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventive maintenance activities on state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor equipment in cleanroom environment.
  • Performing visual inspections (quality check) post PM.

  • Performing activities in a safe and responsible manner and supporting Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

TSMC Arizona operates 24/7/365 and shifts will be assigned based on business need.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent or equivalent technical training in military service, with sufficient machine maintenance experience preferred.
  • Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.

Emergency Response Team Duties

If hired for this position, you may be required to participate in and perform Emergency Response Team (ERT) duties as an essential part of the role. These duties may include responding to F21 incidents, such as medical emergencies, chemical spills, fire response, or addressing any other disruptions to business operations. If you are selected by your manager to become a part of ERT, participation is mandatory, and additional compensation will be provided for performing these critical responsibilities in the form of a monthly premium.
