Job Summary

The Equipment Technician plays a key role in supporting the Field Team by assisting with equipment and chemical needs at various customer sites in the region. This includes tasks such as installing and setting up plumbing and equipment, calibrating and programming control systems, priming chemical pumps, handling remote communications, and troubleshooting any issues. This position serves as a go‑to for other technicians, offering guidance and support when needed and ensuring that safety rules and procedures are followed at all times. Additionally, the Equipment Technician is responsible for documenting service and setup visits in the company system and submitting reports to both customers and team members via email.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply chemical dosing and testing to help with the startup and troubleshooting of water treatment equipment.
  • Start up, troubleshoot, and operate equipment for customers, while teaching their team how to use it effectively.
  • Use basic knowledge of electrical systems to help operate equipment and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Work with our regional service teams to share knowledge and provide guidance on equipment changes, chemical feeds, and system operations.
  • Travel to client locations to provide hands‑on assistance with installing, setting up, and training others on our equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Work with other teams to suggest improvements in our equipment based on feedback from customer visits.
  • Keep detailed records of service activities, including what was fixed and any recommendations for future improvements, and share these with management.
  • Support other technicians with technical or customer service needs and assist with training when needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to manage parts and supplies.
  • Infrequently transport small amounts of water treatment chemicals (about 5 gallons) to customer sites.
  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in plumbing, maintenance, general repair, or other similar work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.

  • Comfortable with basic computer use, including Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Able to work independently and with minimal managerial oversight.
