Job summary

T1 Energy is expanding its Wilmer, Texas, 5GW solar module facility and seeks an Equipment Technician to maintain automated production lines. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and record-keeping to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have a technical diploma in electrical or mechanical fields and hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 12-hour shifts with a 10% differential apply.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or higher in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, PV industry preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical and automation components.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to use data analysis tools such as MS Excel.
  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot high-volume production lines to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on robotics and manufacturing systems.
  • Record daily maintenance and equipment logs accurately.
  • Detect and isolate irregularities in machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with machine alignment during installation using basic tools.
  • Support repairs for new equipment and ensure maintenance quality.
  • Adhere to safety rules and installation standards for equipment.

Job description

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. **Only Shift Available - 6PM to 6AM with 10% differential**

The Role

T1 Energy is looking for an Equipment Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of our high-volume automated solar production lines. You will work on the front lines of our 5GW facility, performing preventative maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on advanced robotics and manufacturing systems to minimize downtime. Collaborating with Engineering and Operations, you will ensure our equipment runs at peak performance. This is an ideal entry-level technical role for a hands‑on problem solver eager to build a career in advanced American manufacturing.

What You'll Do:
  • Master the structure and working principle of factory production equipment and facilities and learn and improve their own equipment maintenance skills and level.
  • Conduct regular and scheduled inspection of the production equipment in the factory to ensure that the equipment is in good condition and eliminate potential equipment failures.
  • Make daily operation records and maintenance records of the equipment system in a timely manner.
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with aligning machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, squares, ruler, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Support in repairing any problems associated with new equipment.
  • Follow work arrangement, timely repair the faulty equipment reported for repair, and ensure the maintenance quality.
  • Maintain the equipment to prolong the longevity of service life and improve its utilization rate.
  • Strictly abide by the safety operation rules, maintenance rules, and installation standards and specifications of the equipment.
  • Perform other duties and special project, as assigned by management.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of a 12‑hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications:
  • Technical diploma or higher (electrical or mechanical), familiarity with solar modules or semiconductors combined with relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (with photovoltaic industry preferred).
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical, and automation components preferred.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, inspection and test equipment.
  • Ability to use data analysis tools such as MS Excel and other applications.
  • Dedicated and strive to achieve, hardworking and reliable, be able to adapt to shifts and work well under pressure.
