Job summary

Catholic Health is seeking an Equipment & Supply Technician to manage vehicle and equipment turnover, inventory, and readiness for EMS crews on a daily basis. You will assign and track gear, ensure proper sign-offs, and maintain equipment condition during shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid NYS driver's license; NYS EMT-B certification is preferred. This on-site role supports the EMS team and fleet operations on Long Island.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Valid NYS EMT-B Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assign vehicles and equipment as per the crewscheduler schedule.
  • Be available for all outgoing and incoming crews during the shift.
  • Distribute proper equipment to crews and have them sign off upon receipt.
  • Collect proper equipment from crews and have them sign off upon return.
  • Plug in all rechargeable equipment and prep for redistribution.
  • Perform equipment inventory daily and report OOS items to management.

Job Details

The Equipment & Supply Technician position has a critical function in ensuring that the daily turn-in and out of the EMS crews are highly efficient. The employees in this position are to perform the following:

  • Assign vehicles and equipment as per the crewscheduler schedule
  • Be available for all outgoing and incoming crews during the shift
  • Distribute proper equipment to crews and have them sign off upon receipt
  • Collect proper equipment from crews and have them sign off upon return
  • Plug in all rechargeable equipment
  • Prep all equipment for re-distribution
  • Perform equipment inventory daily
  • Any equipment that is out-of-service (OOS) must be checked and tagged for testing/repair
  • Advise the management team of any OOS equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is updated in the crewscheduler daily schedule worksheet
  • Perform supply inventory daily
  • Restock supplies based on inventory requirements
  • Supply inventory should not dwindle to below par levels
  • Advise the management team when supplies are needed
  • Manage the appropriate parking and securing of the vehicles
  • Fill vehicles with fuel
  • Perform a NYS Part 800 check on ambulances
  • Seal equipment cabinets in the ambulances
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Properly operate the phone and/or other communications systems provided by the company
  • Properly operate the computer system and the software suites provided by the company
  • Speak to clients, customers, and colleagues in a professional manner
  • Inspect Vehicles for condition, equipment, and fuel upon return
  • Check crew appearance upon clocking in

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Possess a valid NYS driver's license
  • Valid NYS EMT-B Certification is preferred
Salary Range

USD $24.00 - USD $29.43 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
