Job summary

RTX is seeking a 2nd shift Semiconductor Equipment Repair and Maintenance Engineer in Goleta, CA, with support at the Lompoc site as needed. Work hours are Monday–Friday 12:00pm–10:00pm, performing diagnostics, repair, and calibration on sophisticated semiconductor equipment to ensure reliable process performance.

You will document maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize production disruptions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with equipment repair and/or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering schematics and technical drawings.
• Identify failures using basic electronic test equipment and common hand/power tools.
• Perform hands-on system diagnostics, repair and maintenance on semiconductor equipment (photo lithography, steppers, aligners, metrology spectrophotometers, electro-mechanical devices).
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to communicate equipment status.
• Provide engineering solutions and recommendations on equipment failures.

Raytheon Vision Systems is looking for a 2nd shift Semiconductor Equipment Repair and Maintenance Engineer in Goleta, CA, while providing support at our Lompoc site as needed (Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 10:00pm). This role is responsible for implementing inspection, calibration and maintenance procedures to ensure the optimal performance condition of sophisticated machinery and specialized process equipment are met. This will involve system diagnostics to perform repairs and system calibrations of specialized process equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it is functioning reliably to meet process specifications. You will participate in new process developments on capital equipment using repair techniques, and responding to production equipment emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes. Maintain technical detailed maintenance records for quality assurance to address root cause and corrective actions on reoccurring problems.

What You Will Do

• Communicate technical documentation effectively both written and verbally.
• Read Engineering schematics and technical drawings.
• Identifying failures using basic electronic test equipment and common hand/power tools.
• Work in a clean room environment, capable of lifting 28lbs.
• Adherence to environmental health and safety programs including electrical safety, gas safety, hazardous materials, material handling, and wearing personal protective equipment.
• Perform hands on system diagnostics, repair and maintenance on Semiconductor Photo Lithography Equipment, Steppers, Aligners, Metrology Spectrophotometers, and electro-mechanical devices.
• Collaborate with cross functional groups communicating equipment status.
• Provide Engineering Solutions and recommendations on process equipment failures.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Equipment Repair and/or Maintenance experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with installation of Capital Manufacturing Equipment and Special Test equipment.
• Experience with electro / mechanical devices.
• Good interpersonal skill, be dependable and be able to follow through on multiple concurrent assignments.
• Experience in the maintenance troubleshooting and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.
• Technical Military Training / Experience.

Salary

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
