Compensation Grade:T21Salary Range:$40.08-$52.10Opening Date:August 7, 2026Closing Date:August 22, 2026Please Note: All job announcements close at 11:59 p.m. of the day before the posted closing date.As the Equipment Programs Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with the Supervisor in planning, analyzing, and improving the Airport’s equipment maintenance and repair operations.Equipment Programs Coordinator IIThis is a journey (full performance) level job in the Equipment Programs Coordinator series.Serves in the Equipment Maintenance Division of the Airport Maintenance Department at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) or at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.Coordinates assigned heavy equipment maintenance programs, including projects that involve several trades, such as diesel mechanics, welding, and painting. Manages service and supply contracts, assists in maintenance and repair management support activities, and helps schedule heavy equipment operations. Provides technical expertise on maintenance issues; develops plans for replacement and purchase of capital and non-capital equipment. Performs related functions.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESWorks with others in developing, revising, and submitting equipment procurement paperwork.Researches, writes, and develops of detailed statements of work and product schedule documents for contractual services.Maintains industry contacts with equipment manufacturer representatives, the Upfitter community, and the aviation industry to assist in developing specifications for equipment.Tracks and manages the Capital Equipment Replacement program. Maintains a rolling five-year plan to forecast equipment replacement purchases.Oversees and monitors blanket purchase order (BPO) contracts, invoices, and purchase requests.Maintains computerized database of all mobile equipment asset records.Serves as the centralized caretaker of the fleet maintenance management system and fuel management system and its automotive fueling sites.Serves as Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative for vehicle maintenance issues.Helps ensure that variations in past and future spending levels are recognized and accounted for in an appropriate manner in the budget.Helps identify major equipment, tools, spare parts, and operating instructions needed.[IAD only] Assists Supervisor in serving as the Airport’s snow removal equipment coordinator.Keeps abreast of technical developments in diesel mechanics, planning, and scheduling.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSSix years of progressively responsible experience in fleet maintenance management.Knowledge of and skill in performing heavy equipment maintenance and repair operations.Knowledge of and skill in working with heavy industrial, commercial, and light automotive equipment and related mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems at the journey level.Skill in writing heavy equipment technical specifications, equipment evaluation criteria, and statements of work.Knowledge of and ability to perform contract administration for heavy equipment and fleet cost analysis.Knowledge of and skill in planning and scheduling for recurring heavy equipment purchases.Ability to perform detailed analyses of data and information.Ability to work safely and knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and procedures needed to do so.Ability to speak and write effectively.Skill in using a computer and modern office suite software and ability to rapidly learn new duty specific programs/software.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of the Airport Safety and Operations Specialist (ASOS) training from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).Certification as a Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) by NAFA, the Fleet Management Association.Certification in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) by CACI International Inc.Experience with equipment for airfield snow removal.EDUCATIONA high school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIREDA state driver’s license in good standing.[IAD only] Licensed as a Class B commercial driver (CDL) within 90 days of hire, promotion, or placement in the job.[DCA only] Licensed as a Class A commercial driver (CDL) with HazMat endorsement within 90 days of hire, promotion, or placement in the job.NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORSOperates vehicle landside and airside (requires AOA permit).Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.May be subject to night/weekend work.WHAT WE OFFERA career with the Airports Authority comes with more than just a paycheck; it offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family’s health, financial security, and professional growth.
