Job summary

Burrtec is seeking an Equipment Operator I at our facility to handle material recycling operations in a real-world, active environment. You will operate multiple pieces of equipment and support daily material recovery tasks.

The role requires a valid CA driver’s license, forklift experience, and strong safety awareness. Competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, baler, wheel loader and sortline equipment.
• Inspect equipment daily and report unsafe conditions.
• Stop operation of any malfunctioning equipment when malfunctioning.
• Follow safe work practices and safety rules.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

We are currently looking to fill anEquipment Operator I position at our Victorville location.

The Equipment Operator handles a combination of any of the following equipment relating to the recovery of material: forklift, baler, wheel loader, sortline.

SALARY RANGE: $26.85/hour - $28.85/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Operate a combination of any of the following equipment:
  • Forklift for movement of recycled materials
  • Sortline panel controls (may provide guidance to sorters)
  • Baler to prepare material for shipment
  • Wheel loader to load sorting line conveyor
• Inspect equipment daily and report unsafe conditions
• Stop operation of any malfunctioning equipment
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to safety rules.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

KNOWLEGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Good judgment skills and ability to recognize equipment problems.
• Ability to communicate in English.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record, required
• Previous forklift experience and familiarity with the operation of various powered equipment is desirable.

PHYSICAL:

• Ability to operate forklift, loader, baler, bobcat and sortline equipment.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
• Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, snow, fog).
