Floyd County Board of Commissioners seeks an Equipment Operator IV in Corrections to supervise crews, operate heavy equipment, and perform road, landfill, and site maintenance as assigned. Duties include inspections, safe operation, setting up traffic control, maintaining logs, and coordinating with supervisors and the public.
A CDL is required and a POS T certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

The purpose of this classification is to supervise work crews, operate heavy equipment, and perform manual work associated with construction, repair, and maintenance of County Road systems, solid waste operations, and landfill management, as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience in heavy equipment operation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License and be able to obtain and maintain, a valid Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification for Correctional Officers within twelve (12) months of hire.
