Job summary

Hall County in Gainesville, GA is seeking an Equipment Operator II to operate medium-sized equipment such as bobcats and loaders, and perform maintenance on county property and facilities. You will ensure safety through pre/post inspections, maintain clean work areas, and provide excellent service to residents.

Responsibilities include operating roll-off and wheeled loader trucks, basic maintenance on vehicles, and occasional litter-control tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One year Equipment Operator I experience required.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
• Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Drug testing due to safety-sensitive nature.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-operation and post-operation inspections on all equipment.
• Operates equipment in a safe and productive manner.
• Daily cleaning of equipment, blowing out filters and radiator.
• Maintain a safe and clean work areas at all times.
• Daily interaction with Hall County residents, always providing excellent customer service.
• Performs other relevant work as assigned.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Operates roll-off trucks to transport solid waste from compactor sites
• Operates wheeled loader to push solid waste in transfer station.
• Performs basic maintenance on roll-off trucks, pick-up trucks, including washing, greasing, checking fluids.
• May operate a scooter truck when assigned to litter control.
• Ensure that safety is maintained through proper training and use of PPE.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
