Job summary

Martin Marietta in California seeks an Equipment Operator II to safely operate heavy mobile equipment to move and process raw materials. You will help maintain site infrastructure, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot malfunctions to maximize uptime.

Under moderate supervision, you will follow MSHA rules, mentor junior operators, and support plant operations with a safety-first mindset. Must have 1+ years of heavy-equipment experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of heavy equipment experience in aggregates, construction, or mining.
• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• Technical training and vocational certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment to move raw materials from pit to plant at max loading capacity.
• Adjust SOP-based settings to maximize throughput and minimize cycle times.
• Coordinate equipment positioning to optimize production flows with site supervisors.
• Ensure cargo is loaded per safety rules to prevent spills and maintain stability.
• Adhere to MSHA safety rules and Guardian Angel programs.
• Maintain haul roads, berms, and loading areas to meet safety standards.
