Job summary

Sandvik Coromant in Westminster, SC is seeking a dependable Machine Operator I (MPL) to join the manufacturing team on site. The role focuses on operating production equipment, monitoring quality, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and equipment per procedures and safety standards.
  • Monitor machine performance and production output to meet quality targets.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic machine adjustments as required.
  • Load and unload materials and finished products.
  • Record production data and conduct visual/dimensional quality checks.
  • Follow work instructions, SOPs and production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area per 5S principles.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors.
  • Contribute to safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members, production leaders and engineers.
  • Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands‑on work, operating advanced manufacturing equipment, and contributing to the production of high-quality cutting tool solutions used around the world. As a Machine Operator I, you will play an important role in supporting production operations by operating equipment, monitoring product quality, maintaining a safe work environment, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate assigned production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Monitoring machine performance and production output to ensure quality and efficiency targets are met.
  • Perform routine inspections and make basic machine adjustments as required.
  • Load and unload materials, components, and finished products.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections and accurately record production data.
  • Follow standardized work instructions, operating procedures, and production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles and company standards.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, process concerns, or quality issues to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
  • Work cooperatively with team members, production leaders, engineers, and support departments.
  • Support cross‑training efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience.
