Job summary

Superior Construction in Crystal River, FL is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to run excavators and other machinery on public works sites. You will load trucks, excavate for utilities, and perform tasks safely under supervision.

The role is field-based with long days and possible weekend work; you must follow OSHA safety policies, maintain good stamina, and have reliable transportation. Prior construction experience is preferred and a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely (excavators with rubber or steel tracks) and monitor gauges
• Load trucks in a timely manner and excavate for underground utilities
• Observe hand signals, grade stakes, and markings to perform work to specifications
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and stockpiling materials
• Work on field-based heavy civil and highway construction sites under varied weather conditions

Employee will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Physical DemandsThe position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
