Job summary

Synagro is seeking a skilled labor/driver to operate heavy and agricultural equipment and safely transport materials to various sites. The role requires daily inspections, proper documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Overnight travel and weekend/holiday work are possible as projects span multiple locations, including several northeastern states. A valid driver's license and prior project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of project work experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment safely.
  • Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times.
  • Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination.
  • Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site; may involve overnight travel.
  • May include travel to multiple sites (e.g., Maine to Rhode Island) and may require evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment.
  • Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup.
  • Maintain operation records.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but not limited to, front end loader, belt press, centrifuge, dredger, spreader box, excavator, telehandler, and road tractor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate truck/equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination
  • Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. May involve overnight travel. Locations include Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. May require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment
  • Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup
  • Maintain operation records
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sitting, Climbing, Balancing, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Fingering, Feeling, Lifting up to 50 lbs., Talking, Hearing, and Seeing
  • The worker is subject to confined spaces
  • The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions
  • Ability to wear all required Personal Protection Equipment
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids
  • This position requires travel and overtime
