Job Summary:

1. Operates construction, excavating and loading equipment and heavy machinery including mini excavators, skid steers, winch dozers, clean up dozers and backhoes.
2. Effectively completes excavation related tasks by using appropriate equipment.
3. Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
4. Inspects, fuels and performs routine vehicle maintenance prior to beginning shift.
5. Consults digging plans, machine specifications, and safety procedures for specific tasks.
6. Ensures work is completed to specification by observing grade stakes, material levels, hand signals, and other markers.
7. Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge of machinery operation and capabilities.
2. Ability to read site plans related to land grades.
3. Ability to complete safety awareness training.
4. Mechanical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to follow instructions.
6. Flexibility to operate multiple types of equipment.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
3. CDL class A license required (Tankers Endorsement Preferred).

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods of operating machinery.
2. Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
3. Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
4. Must be able to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
