Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks an Equipment Operator 1 for Windsor Club in Vero Beach, FL. This full-time role uses tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks, and other heavy equipment to maintain an elite 18-hole golf course.

Work includes weekends/holidays with overtime. Benefits after 90 days include Medical/Dental, Vision, Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance, PTO, end-of-season bonus and a 401(k) with employer match after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large maintenance equipment is preferred but training is provided.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and weekends/holidays.
• Commitment to safety and following directions for equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an elite 18-hole golf course, practice facilities, polo fields and croquet courts.
• Operate tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other maintenance equipment.
• Mow fairways and roughs; perform turf maintenance, edging, and routine cleaning.
• Ensure equipment cooling systems, refuel/oil daily; report issues to Equipment Manager.
• Provide basic preventive maintenance and return equipment to the facility.
• Adapt schedules to meet deadlines; maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Attend work consistently and punctually.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Equipment Operator performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks, and other maintenance equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Maintain a prestigious 18-hole golf course, practice facilities, polo fields and croquet courts.


• Perform turf maintenance practices, raking bunkers and/or native areas, cleaning, weeding, edging cart paths, spot spraying herbicides (under licensed supervision), morning setup for golf play, maintaining a clean and organized work area.


• Mow fairways and roughs with gang units.


• Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working; refills fuel and oil daily, cleans equipment daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.


• Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager or Assistant Superintendent and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.


• May require adjusted work schedules to meet deadlines.


• Regular attendance and timeliness are required.

• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.


• Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction.


• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public.


• Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.

• Mechanical aptitude.
