Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator for Matting Solutions to perform day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner on construction sites.

You will work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, and must read and follow Access and Construction Plans while maintaining logs and reporting issues promptly. Responsibilities include completing safety checks, assisting with routine maintenance, maintaining clear communication with ground

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read/write fluently in English.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1–3 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large construction projects.
• Ability to operate equipment independently, with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and inspection principles and techniques.
• Skill in reading and interpreting access and construction plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work extensive overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks with proper documentation per policies.
• Participate in routine maintenance and ensure equipment is stored safely.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and uphold safety practices.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Understand ground signals and coordinate with ground personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.

As the Equipment Operator – Matting Solutions, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will be required to work in all weather and be prepared for both extreme heat and cold environments. What you’ll do

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, pre- and post-equipment inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
• Participate in routine maintenance (such as greasing, etc.) and ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
• Effectively communicate to all site personnel and practice workplace safety
• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
• Clear understanding of ground signals, and maintain constant eye contact with ground personnel
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements
