Job summary

The Mosaic Company is seeking an Equipment Operator at our Pine Bend facility in Rosemount, MN. The role covers unloading rail cars and barges, loading trucks, and operating a range of heavy equipment. You will be cross-trained to perform all tasks and participate in safety training and SOP progression.

Minimum 1–2 years in an industrial setting with basic English, math, and computer skills is preferred. A valid driver’s license is helpful as duties may include travel within facilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Associate degree in process technology preferred.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in industrial setting and operating mobile equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Unload rail cars and barges; load trucks and rail cars.
  • Operate equipment such as front-end loaders, telehandlers, high lifts, Sennebogen, payloader.
  • Follow EHS policies; wear PPE; report hazards and participate in safety meetings.
  • Train and demonstrate competency in SOPs and various operations/maintenance tasks.

Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for unloading rail cars and barges, loading trucks and rail cars, as well as general operations and maintenance at Mosaic’s Non-Union Distribution Facilities.

Where will you work

Onsite Mosaic Pine Bend– (5300 Pine Bend Trail, Rosemount, MN 55068)

Schedule

hours are typically M-F 7am-3pm; however, shift work schedule is possible after the first six months.

What you'll do

This position covers a wide range of tasks, including loading trucks, offloading rail cars and barges, operating various equipment such as front-end loaders, telehandlers, high lifts, Sennebogen (E-crane), payloader, etc. All employees are cross‑trained to perform all tasks at the facility, making the role diverse and flexible. Demonstrate commitment to environmental, health, and safety by complying with all EHS policies, wearing proper PPE for the job, reporting unsafe work conditions and/or accidents promptly and attending and participating in all safety meetings and training. Demonstrate positive behavioral qualities such as striving to be a team player, dependable, approachable, and a continuous learner. Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all standard operating procedures (SOPs). Attain and maintain competency in the following operations positions, to include control room operator, hazardous material technician, Sennebogen operator, payloader operator, and dry product rail loader/unloader. Through the progression program, train and demonstrate competency in all maintenance procedures. Attain and maintain competency in the following maintenance activities, to include preventive maintenance procedures on truck and rail loading/unloading stations, relief valves, mobile equipment repair, and maintenance of conveyor belt system.

What you'll need
  • High school diploma or GED certificate is preferred.
  • Associate degree in process technology discipline is preferred.
  • Entry level - Chemical or Industrial Operations preferred 1 – 2 years’ experience working in Industrial setting and operating mobile equipment of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Maintain clean work environment and comply with all safety and environmental policies; Adaptability to make judgments when operating equipment to.
  • Proficiency and comprehension reading and writing English; Comfortable with simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
  • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
