York Building Products is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our outdoor mining and construction team. You will safely operate a variety of heavy equipment while supporting daily production and keeping equipment in peak condition.

This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, values safety, and can adapt to changing needs. Overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules may be required to meet business demands.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
• 1–2 years of preventive maintenance and lubrication experience preferred.
• Mining or quarry experience is a plus.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Able to read and follow safety procedures and operating instructions.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and excavators.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
• Identify and report equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Work safely and efficiently while supporting production goals.

Position Summary

York Building Products is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll safely operate a variety of heavy construction and mining equipment while supporting daily production and maintaining equipment in peak operating condition.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and thrives in a hands-on environment.

What You'll Do

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in an outdoor mining or quarry environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust. Operators regularly work around heavy equipment and industrial machinery while maintaining a strong focus on safety.

All work is performed in accordance with York Building Products' safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should be able to:

• Walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Safely enter, exit, and operate heavy equipment.
• Work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment.
