Job summary

ShipBob in North Aurora, IL is seeking a careful forklift operator to move packages and materials throughout our warehouses. You will operate a forklift and related equipment with safety and efficiency in mind, ensuring stock is accurately tracked and located.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and compliance with health and safety policies. You will contribute to smooth operations by loading, unloading, labeling shipments, and maintaining inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience operating stand-up/reach, order/cherry/stock picker, pallet rider (walkie/EPJ), stand-up counterbalance/pacer and JOEY.
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
• Valid certificate to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, pacer or other machinery used for transporting or shipping goods.
• Load, unload, pack, and unpack stock of product or pallets from incoming vehicles.
• Transport, retrieve and relocate stock to workstations or other locations within the warehouse.
• Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of incoming and outgoing items.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure it is in good working order.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Clean equipment after use and dispose of scraps or waste.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Ensure products are handled, stored, and distributed in a manner that maintains their safety, quality, and legality.

Role Description

We are looking for a careful forklift operator to move packages and material around our facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities. You must be responsible and have solid experience in driving industrial vehicles to ensure that material and products are always at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency. This role reports to the Area Manager.

What you’ll do

• Operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, pacer or other machinery used for transporting or shipping goods.
• Load, unload, pack, and unpack stock of product or pallets from incoming vehicles.
• Transport, retrieve and/or relocate stock of product or pallets to workstations or other assigned locations within the warehouse.
• Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of incoming and outgoing items.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure it is in good working order.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Clean equipment after use and dispose of any collected scraps or waste.
• Carefully handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials whenever necessary.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Ensure products are handled, stored, and distributed in a manner that maintains their safety, quality, and legality, following all standard operating procedures and supporting traceability through accurate record‑keeping.
• Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.

What you’ll bring to the table

• Demonstrated experience in stand‑up/reach, order/cherry/stock picker, pallet rider (walkie/EPJ), stand‑up counterbalance/pacer and JOEY.
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
• Excellent physical condition and coordination, ability to lift up to 50 lbs without restriction, stand between 8‑12 hours per day (depending on shift), and perform a variety of tasks that include pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing a ladder, etc.
• Valid certificate to operate forklifts.
