Job summary

Golden Queen Mining Co. LLC seeks an Equipment Operator for its Mojave-area site. You will operate a range of mining equipment, perform safety analyses before use, and support routine maintenance and site duties. This role requires strong safety practices and reliable teamwork.

You will report to the Mine Operations Supervisor and contribute to efficient earth-moving operations while ensuring compliance with MSHA and Cal-OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience operating large mining-related equipment.
• Effective communicator with strong safety culture.
• Able to read and understand equipment handbooks and guidelines.
• Must have driver's license and adhere to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shift and pre-operation safety analyses of mining equipment.
• Operate equipment for earth moving and road watering as needed (Komatsu fleet, haul trucks, loaders, shovels).
• Maintain and record equipment maintenance and operations data.
• Assist with manual labor tasks (shoveling dirt, fence repair).
• Adhere to MSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations related to equipment and road maintenance.

Through Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC, we operate a modern gold and silver open-pit, heap-leach mine just outside Mojave. The site uses conventional open-pit mining, cyanide heap leaching, and Merrill-Crowe processing to recover gold and silver from crushed and agglomerated ore. As an Equipment Operator, you will report directly to the Mine Operations Supervisor.

This is a safety-sensitive position.

What You Do

• Perform pre-shift, and pre-operation, safety analysis of all the mining equipment at the site;
• Operate various mining equipment at the project site performing earth moving and road watering duties as needed, such as:
  • Komatsu Mining Fleet
  • Haul Trucks (100-Ton Capacity)
  • Front End Loaders (6-yard bucket)
  • Shovels (19-yard bucket)
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner;
• Perform minor maintenance checks on equipment such as fluid levels and belt quality;
• At various times will be required to help with some manual labor functions to help maintain the site, i.e. shoveling dirt, fence mending, small rock movements;
• Become knowledgeable of all MSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations related to equipment and road maintenance and
• Maintain equipment maintenance and operations records.
• Additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience operating large mining-related equipment;
• An effective communicator;
• Self-starter needing minimal oversight and direction;
• Able to read and fully understand all equipment handbooks and guidelines
• Able to analyze equipment gauges and warnings as needed
• Adhere to safety policies and standards. We must abide by manufacturers’ limits on our equipment including an operator seat capacity of 350 lbs. or less.
• Driver’s license required
