Treeline, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to support construction and forestry operations across parts of Southern Aroostook County and the Chester location.

The role involves safely operating excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, delimbers, skidders and related machinery, ensuring efficient production flow while upholding a strong safety culture. Responsibilities include daily safety checks, basic maintenance, and collaboration with team members and foremen.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Class B driver’s license; Class A is a plus.
  • Ability to operate and repair equipment safely.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely to support production and forestry operations.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as needed and report issues to foreman.
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs as required.
  • Cross-train in other positions as requested by site foreman.
  • Maintain safe, efficient work area and adhere to Treeline’s safety culture.

This position will cover parts of Southern Aroostook County as well as our Chester location
Position Summary: The equipment operator supports Treeline’s construction and forestry operations by safely operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, compactors, front end loaders, delimbers, skidders, skid steers, dump trucks (with licensure) and other machinery used in our various operations The operator ensures efficient production flow, proper handling of logs and lumber, and adherence to Treeline’s strong safety culture.

  • Contributes to developing and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintains personal safety and watches out for the safety of others.
  • Accept and appreciate your fellow team member’s watching out for your safety and offering suggestions or advice
  • Complies with all OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Communicates with team members and customers in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Communicate both effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the cellphone and via two-way radio.
  • Consistently maintains a positive and problem-solving attitude.
  • Maintain an OSHA approved first aid kit.
  • Understands and adheres to Treeline’s employment handbook.
  • Operate the equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Advise Job Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Cross train in other positions as deemed appropriate by the site foreman.
  • Work in an efficient way as a team member.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Valid Class B Driver’s License (Class A is a plus, but not required)
Experience/Skills
  • Take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical functioning of various components on the equipment and make manage repairs related to the equipment as these problems occur.
  • Perform these jobs on an individual basis as well as being able to work with others in group situations.
  • Do various jobs utilizing proper body mechanics.
  • Perform the jobs required to repair equipment according to all regulations and specifications.
  • Comply with all company safety related rules. Work with safety related equipment to perform your duties.
  • Always make sure that the equipment being worked on is made safe for oneself and other employees before performing any work-related tasks. Perform Lockout/Tagout as required.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Remain sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Demonstrate visual and auditory acuity in order to safely operate equipment.
  • Climbing in and out of machinery.
Work Environment
  • The time will be split between outside condition and sitting in the operator’s cab, which is normally climate controlled.
  • The operator is subjected to severe exposure of slippery surfaces, such as icy and muddy conditions.
  • The noise level is loud but generally below 85 decimals.
  • The operator must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hard-hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety vest that will be furnished by the company.
  • Inclement weather conditions.
