Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a skilled equipment operator for PEC Kyle Office, Kyle, TX to maintain and operate utility project equipment. You will transport equipment, perform pole-setting and digging, and assist line crews with construction and maintenance of lines.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma, three years of heavy equipment training, and a valid Texas Class A CDL. The position offers competitive base pay with KPI bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Three years of heavy equipment training and related work experience.
  • Valid Texas Class A CDL required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and service equipment and vehicles as assigned.
  • Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
  • Perform pole-setting, hole-digging, tree-trimming and rights-of-way work.
  • Assist line crews with construction and maintenance of lines and poles.
  • Load and unload materials; keep hour and travel logs.
  • Maintain driver eligibility with a valid Texas CDL and driving record.
  • Stay informed on technology changes and PEC policies.
  • Possible overtime or call-out for emergency restoration.

$31.92Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits

Midpoint of pay range: $39.90

*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.

This position is responsible for maintaining and operating equipment for utility project completion.

  • Operate, maintain and service equipment and vehicles as assigned
  • Transport equipment and material to and from job sites
  • Utilize proper equipment to perform duties such as pole-setting, hole-digging, tree-trimming and clearing rights of way
  • Assist line crews with the construction, maintenance and servicing of lines, poles, and cross- arms
  • Load and unload materials
  • Maintain hour and travel logs
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Contact various water departments, gas companies for location of lines
  • Meet Digg Tess
  • Contact members
  • Manage the work for digging operations
  • Operate PEC vehicle(s) for business purposes in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local law and PEC policies and procedures
  • Maintain driver eligibility through appropriate valid Texas Driver's License and driving record in accordance with PEC policy
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of changes in technology
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
