Lighting Maintenance Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Construction Department. You will operate skid steers, excavators, digger derricks, cranes, and other equipment, while supporting electricians and crews to finish projects safely and on schedule.

You will be expected to perform manual tasks when needed, travel across North Carolina, and uphold strong safety and quality standards in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
• Safe, productive operator with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to perform physical construction work when equipment isn't needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and quality.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL is a strong plus and may be required depending on the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Excavating trenches and foundations.
• Setting light poles and concrete bases.
• Operating digger derricks and cranes to unload and install poles.
• Backfilling, grading, and site restoration.
• Assisting with underground electrical installations.
• Loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment.
• Performing daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Working alongside electricians and construction crews to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Traveling to projects throughout North Carolina as required.

Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing Construction Department serving Charlotte and surrounding areas throughout North Carolina.

If you're looking for a job where you sit in a machine all day, this isn't it.

We're looking for a construction professional who can confidently operate heavy equipment when needed, but isn't afraid to climb out of the cab, grab a shovel, help the crew, install conduit, set poles, pull wire, pour concrete, or do whatever it takes to finish the job safely and on schedule.

Equipment You'll Operate

• Skid steers

What You'll Be Doing

Compensation:$30 to $40 per hour (based on experience)
