Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a field-oriented Equipment Helper to support maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment. You will assist in operation, inspection, and preventive maintenance tasks under supervision in all weather conditions.

Valid driver’s license is required and may necessitate CDL with Hazmat. You will help with lifting, securing materials, and documenting service using mobile devices, contributing to safe and efficient project execution.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license (may require CDL with Hazmat).
• Typically requires 6 months of industrial construction experience.
• Assist in operation and inspection of equipment to diagnose defects and repair.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Equipment Mechanic and others to perform job tasks.
• Work under direct supervision in all weather conditions.
• Assist in the operation and inspection of equipment to diagnose defects and repair all types of construction equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment (lubrication, replacement of brakes, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and engine tune-up).
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy construction equipment.
• Examine parts for wear or damage; test overhauled equipment for proper operation.
• Maintain records documenting equipment maintenance and repair using mobile devices.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials during installation.
• Perform maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Assist fuel/lube truck mechanics on field assignments.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Typically requires 6 months of industrial construction experience.

10. Assists in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
11. Performs maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
12. Assists fuel/lube truck mechanics on field assignments.
13. Adheres to all safety procedures.
14. Typically requires 6 months of industrial construction experience.
