Job summary

Ten Mile is seeking an Equipment Mechanic/Field Mechanic to join our team in Claysville, PA. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing various types of equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety in the field.

Expect to report to job sites within a 1.5 hour radius from Claysville, PA, with a company service truck provided and your own toolbox. Starting at $26/hour for entry level and up to $32/hour for experienced mechanics, typical schedule is 45 hours per week with

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and DOT card.
• Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background/MVR check.
• Punctuality and willingness to work holidays/weekends.

• Wears PPE in operations.
• Attention to detail and stress tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Operate diagnostic instruments and power tools.
• Test, service, and repair vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and replace components per manufacturer specs.
• Repair brakes, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, and other systems.
• Evaluate status and schedule repairs.
• Test equipment after repair for proper performance.
• Lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections and identify unsafe conditions.
• Provide emergency field assistance.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment.

Job description

Ten Mile is seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic/Field Mechanic to join our team inClaysville, PA. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and servicing various types of equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Expect to report to job sites in various locations for emergency field work. Field work is generally within a 1.5 hour radius from Claysville, PA. Although a company service truck is provided with job offer, Mechanics must utilize their own tool box and tools. Expect to work 45 hours per week with a hand full of Saturdays during the year.Starting rate of $26 an hour for entry level and up to $32 an hour for experienced Equipment Mechanics.

Ten Mile owns over 300 pieces of equipment, consisting mostly of late model CAT products, Asphalt Paving Equipment, Forestry Products as well as Crushing and Screening Equipment.

CDL not required but preferred.

Position Requirements

• Complete preventive maintenance for all assigned vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Operate a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
• Test, service and repair vehicles and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and related parts in the performance of repair and maintenance work.
• Repair brake, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, ignition, air, exhaust, axle, steering, HVAC, suspension assemblies, and related systems.
• Evaluate status of mechanical equipment/vehicles and perform or schedule needed repairs.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment, trailers and vehicles.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions.
• Provides emergency field assistance.
• Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical and hydraulics such as bulldozers, graders, pavers, rollers, milling machines, skid steers, excavators, etc., used in construction and paving.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have previous experience with Heavy Equipment Maintenance.
• Valid drivers license and ability to maintain a DOT card for the operation of company vehicles.
• Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and criminal background/MVR check.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Be willing to work holidays and weekends when necessary.
• Be able to work overtime when required.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
• Great attention to detail and stress tolerance.

Environment
This position will require working outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold with rain to very hot and humid. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, with occasional periods of time exposed to machine noise.
