Job summary

DN LLC in California is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair our hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and pneumatic equipment used in concrete storage tank construction. You will perform preventative maintenance, manage tool inventories, and support project teams remotely or on-site as needed.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Travel ability as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update equipment availability records for scheduling efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and small tools/equipment.
  • Inspect returns, document damages, and ensure readiness for deployment.
  • Control inventory of parts for service and repairs.
  • Order parts to ensure availability for maintenance.
  • Support small tools maintenance (generators, pressure washers, sandblasters, nail guns).
  • Light welding, fabrication, and maintenance of warehouse/yard equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting with project teams.
  • Analyze failures to identify root causes and prevent repeats.
  • Review field inspection reports to prioritize repairs.
  • Mentor Assistant Mechanics and ensure proper repair procedures.

As a Mechanic at DN, you will become an integral part of our team dedicated to maintaining and repairing our equipment, ensuring they remain in peak operational condition. You will play a crucial role in implementing effective preventative maintenance practices to uphold the reliability and performance of our equipment. Success in this role requires a detail‑oriented individual with strong technical skills, the ability to work independently or as a part of a team, and the ability to provide guidance and support to the mechanic team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update equipment availability records to ensure accurate tracking and support scheduling efficiency.
  • Preform preventative maintenance and repair on small tools, hydraulic, diesel, and pneumatic equipment, and other equipment related to the construction of our concrete storage tanks.
  • Conduct thorough equipment return inspections to assess condition, document damages, and ensure readiness for future deployment.
  • Inventory control of equipment parts required to service small tools, generators, pressure washers, and other general construction tools on their return to the warehouse.
  • Handle the requisition and ordering of parts to ensure the availability of necessary components for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide support for general small tools maintenance such as generators, pressure washers, sandblasters, nail guns, and general construction tools.
  • Light welding, fabrication, and general maintenance of warehouse/yard equipment such as forklifts, etc.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting over the phone with our project teams.
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis on equipment to determine root causes of mechanical issues and prevent future breakdowns.
  • Review and assess field inspection reports submitted through HCSS to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Provide guidance, training, and hands‑on support to Assistant Mechanics to ensure proper repair procedures and promote skill development within the team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mechanic and tool storage area.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment, preferably hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and pneumatic.
  • Experience performing maintenance and repair on hydraulic, diesel, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Basic technology skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

$31 - $34 an hour

This is our good faith estimate of the base salary compensation range for this opportunity. Individual pay decisions will vary based upon the experience and qualifications of the applicant. This range is based on market rates and determined by considering many factors such as external market salary survey data, internal data for comparable roles, and the operational and budgetary objectives of the company.
