Job summary

Glen Eagle Golf & Country Club in Naples, FL seeks an Equipment Manager to oversee repair and maintenance of the golf course equipment, and to manage the turf equipment fleet and facilities. The role emphasizes quality of cut, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs.

Candidate will maintain detailed parts/labor records, order necessary parts, and communicate needs to the Superintendent. Emphasis on safety, reporting, and supervision of a Mechanic aligns with club operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and golf course construction, landscaped area maintenance work and building maintenance and improvement.
• Operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to golf course equipment.
• Administrative and executive ability, especially critical in problem-solving and decision-making, including managing, directing, hiring, and firing employees.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Work additional hours as assigned/required.
• Comply with all GLEN EAGLE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB policies and procedures.

• He/she holds a very high standard for quality of cut, oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, diagnostics and repair of failing equipment
• Maintains detailed records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment; places orders for parts/supplies needed for equipment repair and/or service of the golf course assets.
• The equipment manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Superintendent and/or the Assistant Superintendent.
• Schedules and directs the work assignments of the Mechanic.
• The equipment manager places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak proficiently in English, and basic ability to communicate in Spanish is beneficial.
• Required knowledge of procedures, safety rules, tools, methods, and materials used for maintenance and repair of golf course equipment and machines.
• Safe and efficient operation of all golf course equipment.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Follow written and oral instructions, follow safety rules, and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, members and vendors.
• Completely fills our reports and forms as required.
• Computer skills necessary for record keeping
