Job summary

onsemi EFK is seeking technicians for our state-of-the-art 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, NY. The role runs on a compressed 12-hour shift pattern, supporting a 24/7 operation on the fab floor and across all shifts.

Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining advanced semiconductor equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, reviewing process data, and collaborating with global teams. Sign-on bonus applies.

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of semiconductor fab or technical support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, vacuum and plasma concepts.
  • Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts in a 24/7 facility.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control and qualify 300mm WET Clean semiconductor equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and teach others how to perform it.
  • Respond to error messages and investigate process quality variances.
  • Review SPC charts and react to Out of Control conditions.
  • Conduct visual inspections and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Improve tool availability, cycle time and utilization; document reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and global teams; train new members.
  • Support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

onsemi EFK is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory in Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, New York. Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor with the primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. onsemi is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, control, and qualify state-of-the-art 300mm WET Clean semiconductor equipment
  • Perform, and teach others how to perform, preventive maintenance activities
  • React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts and other system indicators for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
  • Perform, and teach others how to perform, visual inspections (quality check)
  • Recover from process and tool interruptions
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
  • Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with Rie semiconductor process modules and equipment (e.g., Axcellis, LAM, Tel)
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology, and plasma physics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts.
  • Physical Capacity Demands – Able to perform shift work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and onsemi protocol/requirements.
  • Able to wear all required cleanroom and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day (excluding breaks).
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
  • Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
  • Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.

Employees in this role may be required to participate in the site Emergency Response Brigade and support emergency preparedness activities. Participation includes maintaining required training, certifications, and response readiness in accordance with site policies and business needs.

Hourly: onsemi is excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $27.60 to $48.12 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
