Job summary

Lifting-Gear-Hire-Corp in Nashville, TN seeks a mechanically inclined maintenance technician to service and test rental hoisting and rigging equipment, ensuring immediate availability for safe use. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and hands-on repair to keep gear in top condition.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical background, experience with hand and power tools, and a valid driver's license; DOT certification is provided after start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical background or aptitude strongly preferred – automotive mechanic, machine shop, heavy equipment operator, diesel mechanic, or engine repair experience.
• Hand and power tool experience desired.
• Experience with rigging equipment (air hoists, comealongs, manual/electric hoists) is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rental equipment orders and inspect to ensure quality standards.
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test electrical, hand operated, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on rental equipment.
• Operate forklift to load/unload delivery vehicles and transport equipment within the warehouse.
• Drive company vehicles to transport rental orders safely and timely.

Description

Founded in 1990, LGH stands at the forefront of the hoisting and rigging equipment rental industry, providing rental equipment responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of everything from the bridges you drive on to the sports stadiums you visit.

We have an immediate need for a mechanically inclined individual to join our team where you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining our top-notch rental equipment, guaranteeing its immediate availability for safe utilization.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your mechanical knowledge to:

• Prepare rental equipment orders and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with our quality standards.
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test various types of electrical, hand operated, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on rental equipment.
• Operate forklift to load and unload delivery vehicles and transport equipment within the warehouse as part of daily operations.
• Drive company vehicles to transport rental orders in a safe and timely manner.

You may also be eligible for a $1.00/hour increase after 6 months of employment, plus annual performance increases at 1 year and each year thereafter.

Hours: Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Full Time; Occasional overtime may be required.

Location: Nashville, TN

Minimum Starting Pay: $21.00 / hour

Requirements

Education/Training

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Mechanical background or aptitude strongly preferred - automotive mechanic/machine shop/heavy equipment operator/mechanic/diesel mechanic/engine repair experience.
• Hand and power tool experience desired.
• Experience working on air hoists, comealongs, manual hoists, electric hoists or other rigging equipment beneficial, but not required.

Certifications/Licenses

• Valid Driver's License with good driving record and the ability to meet insurance underwriting guidelines required.
• DOT certification required upon commencement of employment (at LGH expense); certification must be maintained.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 55 lbs.
