Job summary

Thorlabs in Jessup, MD seeks an Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on processing equipment. You will work with wafer fab and facilities staff, diagnose and repair machinery, document activities, and maintain accurate records.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electronics skills and the ability to work independently or in a team. Experience ranges 0–4 years with a high school diploma; AA preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
• 0–4 years in equipment maintenance or similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex processing equipment; read electrical/mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks with limited oversight.
• Diagnose, repair and maintain industrial production equipment.
• Disassemble machinery to replace parts and perform repairs.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain inventory of consumables and tools.
• Communicate tool status to FAB supervisor and process supervisors.
