Trane Technologies plc is seeking an Equipment Estimator to join our team in Towson, MD. You will interact with customers, account managers, project managers, technicians, and suppliers to ensure timely estimates and project execution.

Responsibilities include technical selection and pricing of equipment and supporting the sales team. You will review plans, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to meet HVAC system design and installation requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related study; or 1–3 years’ of related experience with estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC or construction management.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience prioritized.
• Strong communication and proactive teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Review Plans & Specifications and develop cost estimates for Trane materials, sub-contractors, non-Trane equipment and labor to assist Account Managers in bidding projects.
• Provide estimating support to the equipment sales team.
• Coordinate selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Prepare, finalize, and review preliminary and final proposals; submit equipment submittals and validate selections.
• Assist Account Manager in determining proposal price, selling strategy, and project schedule.

What’s in it for you:

Trane is hiring for an Equipment Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be closely interacting with customers, account manager(s), other assigned project managers, technicians and suppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned estimates and project execution. Responsibilities include technical selection and pricing of equipment for each project. Must be able to provide estimating support to the equipment sales team.

What you will do:

• Responsible for reviewing Plans & Specifications and developing cost estimates, ensuring accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of Trane materials, sub-contractors, non-Trane purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding projects.
• Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems.
• Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the entire customer’s HVAC system design and installation requirements.
• Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer.
• Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary and/or final proposal complete. Prepares equipment submittals and validates equipment selection.
• Assist Account Manager determine proposal price, selling strategy, and develop project fulfillment schedule with project team.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related study; or one (1) to three (3) years’ of related experience with estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and industry related experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: : DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

$63,111.66 - $87,639.99
