Job summary

ALPFA Medical is seeking an Equipment Engineering Technician to support installation, qualification, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of manufacturing, test, and lab equipment in a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in electronics, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or related field.
• 5+ years experience supporting manufacturing, calibration, maintenance, or test engineering technician roles.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computer-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, IQ/OQ/PQ concepts and medical device environment.
• Experience with calibration and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with computerized calibration or equipment management systems.
• Cross-functional communication and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support equipment Installation Qualification (IQ), setup, acceptance, and release activities.
• Perform, coordinate, and document preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration activities.
• Maintain calibration and PM schedules and ensure equipment is serviced before applicable due dates.
• Coordinate onsite and offsite calibration and repair activities with approved third-party calibration service providers.
• Review calibration certificates, service reports, equipment status, and records for completeness and compliance.
• Maintain equipment inventory, equipment history, calibration status, PM records, and identification/labeling.
• Support implementation, configuration, and ongoing use of equipment management and calibration software.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex equipment and test system failures.
• Perform functional testing and verification following calibration, PM, repair, modification, or equipment relocation.
• Build, assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment, engineering equipment, and test fixtures.
• Support Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering with equipment setup, investigations, modifications, and continuous improvements.
• Create and maintain equipment procedures, work instructions, calibration/PM documentation, and service records in accordance with the quality system.
• Support equipment-related nonconformances, investigations, change controls, CAPAs, and internal or external audits as required.
• Perform other tasks assigned by manager

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, medical equipment, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, calibration, maintenance, or test engineering technician experience
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computer-controlled equipment.
• Working knowledge of calibration, preventive maintenance, equipment qualification, and technical documentation practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions.
• Experience with electrical safety testing equipment, hipot testers, leakage current testers, oscilloscopes, programmers, and automated test systems.
• Experience implementing or administering computerized calibration or equipment management systems.
• Experience with production test software and computer-controlled test equipment.
• Experience in medical devices or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, equipment controls, and IQ/OQ/PQ concepts preferred.
