Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. in Mohawk Valley Fab (MVF) is seeking an engineer to sustain, optimize, and improve ion implantation process systems used in silicon carbide device manufacturing. You will work with Nissin, AMAT, and Axcelis implanters.

You will partner with process engineering and production to improve quality, reduce scrap and rework, and drive cost reduction, while maintaining safety and EHS compliance.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2+ years of semiconductor experience.
• Hands-on experience sustaining ion implantation equipment in a semiconductor wafer fabrication environment.
• Demonstrated awareness of fab safety protocols.
• Proficiency in technical writing and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance (MTBPM), tool fingerprinting, and CIPs to meet tool availability goals.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment excursions to prevent recurrence.
• Create and maintain PM procedures, tool configuration records, and tool acceptance specifications.
• Support tool selection decisions for capacity increases and process development/transfer.
• Partner with process engineering and production to improve quality metrics, reduce scrap and rework, and drive cost reduction.
• Present technical data and project updates to peers and management.
• Champion safety and EHS compliance.
• Manage spare parts inventory and equipment BOMs.
• Coordinate with vendors on technical escalations, parts sourcing, and field service support.

Here’s the Gist:

In this role you will join the Ion Implant Engineering team at our Mohawk Valley Fab (MVF) - the world's largest 200mm SiC wafer fabrication facility - to sustain, optimize, and improve ion implantation process systems used in the manufacture of silicon carbide power devices. Your equipment portfolio will include Nissin, AMAT, and Axcelis implanters.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management. The posted salary range is what Wolfspeed reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job‑relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compensation Range: $107,000.00 - $147,000.00
